Significance of Tsunami
on Dec. 26, 2004 as it relates to Revelation 11 and 12

The tsunami occurred to the day (360 calendar) exactly
1260 x 1000 days from the Nisan 14th, Passover in 1446 BC, the
day before the 10th plague of Egypt when Israel left Egypt. The
‘1260’ agrees with Revelation 12 and the ‘1000’ agrees with Revelation
20. The
numeric signals that the last days are upon us. ("A day is as 1000
years." 1Peter). It is also interesting that there are two natural
cataclysmic phenomena associated with the number 1260 in Revelation (Revelation 11
and 12). In Revelation 11 we have "a great earthquake" when the Two
Witnesses rise from the dead, and in Revelation 12 we have "a flood of
water." A ‘great earthquake’ and the ‘flood of water’ are the
two elements of the great tsunami! (Both the quake and the tsunami that
followed were of epoch proportions.)
The Earthquake:
Rev 11:12 "Then the two prophets heard a loud voice
say to them from heaven, "Come up here!" As their enemies
watched, they went up into heaven in a cloud.
Rev 11:13 At that very moment there was a violent
earthquake; a tenth of the city was destroyed, and seven thousand people
were killed. The rest of the people were terrified and praised the
greatness of the God of heaven. "
(Note: while 7000 were not killed in a fallen city in the
earthquake Dec. 26, 2004, it is interesting that 1260000 days = 3500 x 360,
and thus is half 7000 years (unadjusted by leap months)! (1260 x 1000
days is 3500 years without leap months inculcated. "3500
years" has to do with the culmination of 70 jubilees calculated
without leap months that forms a pattern every 490-years of 360 days,
plus 70 more years of missing Jubilee
Sabbaths. Compare with document of Jubilees. We will not
elaborate now.) (Thus we have 7000
people and 7000 years and 1260 and 3.5 days equaling half-seven years and
half-seven-days.) The number seven is often divided in half in the bible.
(The ancient Persian city of Bam fell exactly one year earlier.)
Moreover, one of the Two Witnesses is patterned after
Moses when he plagued Egypt. At the 10th and last plague Pharaoh
threatened Moses with death, but instead the firstborn of Pharaoh died. The
Two Witnesses likewise die after they complete their ministry of plaguing
the world. This is a type of Jesus who died on Passover. (Except Jesus was
Himself plagued on the cross for mankind as a substitute Passover-lamb
sacrifice so that all who believe on Him might be saved.) Moreover,
inclusive of Passover day itself, Jesus also rose 3.5 days after His
1260-day ministry the same as the Two Witnesses! (The days of the life of
Jesus from conception also numbered about 12,600. Recall that 1260000 days
elapse from the Passover of the Exodus to the tsunami.) Thus, both the
narrative and the numeric of Revelation 11-12 clearly link Moses as one of the Two
Witnesses (in type) and Moses, in turn, is a type of Christ’s ministry,
death, resurrection and ascension. Even their births are similar in that the
reigning kings of their day were both wickedly slaying the male babies when
the deliverers Moses and Jesus were born. And both were supernaturally
protected.
The ‘ascension’ of the Two Witnesses agrees in theme
to the second (and last) mention of the "1260 days" in the book of
Revelation, found in the next chapter. Both the Two Witnesses (Revelation 11) and
the "son" (Jesus) (Revelation 12) share the common theme of ascending to
God after being killed. For both the Two Witnesses and the "son"
(Jesus) are "caught up to heaven," and both the Two Witnesses and
the Son ascend within the context of the earth under the rod of judgment.
(The phrase "Come up here" also links this passage back to Moses.
For God told Moses [several times] to "Come up here" to the top of
Mount Sinai, [Ex. 19:23-24; 24:1-12; 34:2-3]. It is also interesting that
Jesus ascended to heaven on the anniversary that Noah and his family left
the Ark after the great flood.)
The Flood:
Revelation
Let us back up and quote the first five verses. (I know
it’s not KJV, but I don’t have the KJV on my computer yet! I
personally find the KJV difficult to readily absorb due to the old
English.)
Rev 12:1 Then a great and mysterious sight appeared in
the sky. There was a woman, whose dress was the sun and who had the moon
under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
Rev 12:2 She was soon to give birth, and the pains and
suffering of childbirth made her cry out. (Note that the tsunami occurred
Christmas week, the traditional birth date of Jesus and His circumcision.
To be exact, the tsunami occurred late Christmas day United States time.)
Rev 12:3 Another mysterious sight appeared in the sky.
There was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and a crown on
each of his heads.
Rev 12:4 With his tail he dragged a third of the stars
out of the sky and threw them down to the earth. He stood in front of the
woman, in order to eat her child as soon as it was born.
Rev 12:5 Then she gave birth to a son, who will rule
over all nations with an iron rod. But the child was snatched away and
taken to God and his throne.
Rev 12:6 The woman fled to the desert, to a place God
had prepared for her, where she will be taken care of for 1, 260 days.
Rev 12:14 She was given the two wings of a large eagle
in order to fly to her place in the desert, where she will be taken care
of for three and a half years, safe from the dragon's attack.
Rev 12:15 And then from his mouth the dragon poured out
a flood of water after the woman, so that it would carry her away.
Rev 12:16 But the earth helped the woman; it opened its
mouth and swallowed the water that had come from the dragon's mouth.
Here we find the ‘1260’ related to the text in two
different events: ‘Heavenly signs’ and ‘a woman fleeing into the
desert for 1260 days’. And at the beginning (or end) of the 1260 there is
a flood spewed out to sweep away the women. Most commentators point out that
the 1260 days in the desert is patterned after the event when Israel left
Egypt and wandered in the desert 40 years. In wrath Pharaoh pursued the
women ‘Israel’ into the Red Sea. But the earth helped the women and the
sea was divided in the middle. Thus the 1260000 days from the Exodus to the
tsunami agrees in theme and not just the numeric. Moreover, note that the
‘woman’ of Revelation 12 is associated with ‘heavenly signs’. And
remarkably, these also occurred at the time of the great tsunami.
On the day of the tsunami one of the most remarkable
heavenly signs ever recorded happened. A huge solar burst greater than
anything ever recorded came from a star billions of miles away and pummeled
the earth with radiation. Also in the heavens at that time was the record
5th naked-eye comet of the year that was rising like a scepter over Pleiades
---called the seven sisters (i.e., the seven churches of Revelation 2-3), or the
‘menorah’ as it is called by the Jews. It reminds me of the star of
Bethlehem at the birth of the man-child Jesus! (Revelation12:1).
