Let us now look at the banner-pole part 
of the mene-tekel-peres bible code again. 

Reading along the pole from the bottom to the top, 
and then wrapping around the banner at top;
Concerning Babylon, it reads:

"Concerning your beauty, it is being searched out by him. 

On account of its height,  

the Manna, a Lion, and a Mina shall measure it!

More than a piece (or, 'a pole'), he cut off; 

she (Babylon) was severed in two! 

Concerning her, wrath is pent-up from God; 

They put God to the test!

Yet, God will test them, O' banner-pole of Thomas,

testing them indeed, O' mighty one!" (or, O' great tree!)

Having made our point about the importance of understanding contrasts in the bible codes, what is the interpretation of the picture bible code of the banner pole? 

A signal pole held against the walls of Babylon:

The banner-pole bible code is painting a picture of a signal pole held alongside Babylon's majestic walls, rallying men to conquer her. This, in turn, is symbolic of Christ being encompassed at the cross. Keep in mind that the word for banner can mean a pole. As said, it is the same word used by Jesus when referring to the cross, when He said: "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up," (Jn. 3:14). Compare the banner of the bible code with the words of the prophet Jeremiah:

"Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard ('pole'); publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, (Isaiah 50:1-2).

"...Jehovah hath stirred up the spirit of the kings of the Medes; because his purpose is against Babylon, to destroy it: for it is the vengeance of Jehovah, the vengeance of his temple.  Set up a standard (banner pole) against the walls of Babylon,"  (Jer. 51:11-12a, ASV)

The first part of the bible code reads:

"Concerning your beauty, it is being searched out by him. 

On account of its height,  

the Manna, a Lion, and a Mina shall measure it!

Babylon was high as it was beautiful. Babylon was famous for both. Nebuchadnezzar greatly beatified both its temple and the city. One of the seven wonders of the ancient world was the hanging gardens of Babylon. Babylon was also famous for the temple tower, or ziggurat, which was devoted to the observation of the heavens.  Also, the walls of the city were famous for their breadth and height. 

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire..." (Isaiah 51:58).

As an interesting side note that may relate to this bible code: Babylon's history was written into her very walls by her scribes, (like a modern banner)!

 

"The manna, a lion, and a mina," are really three descriptions of the One person---Jesus Christ. (This phrase appears two other times in the full bible code.) The manna is Christ as 'the bread of life'; the lion as 'King, and the Mina as 'redeemer'.  This is why the bible code refers to "Him" and "them" as assessing Babylon. However, the singular "he" can also refers to doubting-Thomas-type people, as we will discuss next.
